Caleb Plant surely likes a public spat. Be it inside the squared circle or outside it, the American boxer doesn’t shy away from throwing a punch. But, it seems his targets are not limited to the boxing world, as he has ignited a feud with Fat Joe, a rapper. The two have been at each other’s throats for a while now, and the accusations have been flying, too, about how it all started.

In a recent interview, Fat Joe detailed how they got involved in an altercation. He hypothesized that ‘Sweethands’ wanted to fight Edgar Berlanga and was trash-talking. He continued, “He had a camera dude with him and it just didn’t go his way. Because I let him know, ‘you going to be eliminated if you punch me, you gone’… I was with my wife & daughter… he was very disrespectful this guy.”
According to Fat Joe, the trolling ended after he told Plant off. However, these comments didn’t sit well with Plant. He took to his X handle and rebutted these claims. The former IBF champion explained Fat Joe started the verbal warfare with a comment. He wrote, “Not what happened at all. He said to me (first) “How did it feel getting off the ground from your fight”. I said, “Not as good as it felt to WIN!”

🧢Not what happened at all. He said to me (first) “how did it feel getting off the ground from your fight”. I said “not as good as it felt to WIN!” Security immediately started ushering us along separate ways and that was it. My wife, dad & stepmom were the only ones with me. https://t.co/D18pjPsNRK

Security soon intervened and separated both parties. The Tennessee native also revealed he was only with his father, stepmother, and wife. Boxing fans have yet to determine who is telling the truth in this back-and-forth. But maybe the feud might only be limited to trash-talking now. Why is that?

Caleb Plant and Edgar Berlanga’s short-lived feud
Plant, 32, and Berlanga, 27, had been involved in a feud when the latter was about to fight Canelo Alvarez. Plant wanted a fight with ‘The Chosen One’ back then. Berlanga and Fat Joe shared a deep bond, so much so that he walked out with Berlanga during the Alvarez fight. It was no wonder Plant decided to run into him. But the fight between Plant and Berlanga might be off the table now, as Berlanga has lost two consecutive fights, including the Alvarez one.
Whereas, Plant is now the interim WBA super middleweight champion. He holds the right to fight the Mexican champion next. However, Alvarez, 34, might not pick Plant next because he comprehensively defeated Plant and he would prefer to pick a new challenge instead of Plant. It remains to be seen whether this fight materializes or not.
