Canelo Alvarez Cautioned Ryan Garcia Long Before the Gervonta Davis Fight Was Announced

Gervonta Davis and Ryan Garcia both made it public that they will fight in 2023. Undoubtedly, this would be one of the biggest fights in contemporary boxing. Both fighters are in their prime and undefeated in professional boxing. While Davis reigns the WBA World Lightweight title with 0 losses and 27 wins, Garcia displays 23 wins since his debut inside the pro ring. Earlier this year, Garcia informed that he would not face ‘Tank’ at 135lbs but in the division of 140lbs given the fight ever took place in boxing.
Anyway, the two have come to terms and will square off against one another in 2023. Stephen Espinoza has already labelled the fight as ‘one of the biggest and most exciting fights that can be made in boxing.’ With the fight on its way, now the question is whose night will it be – Garcia’s or Davis’? Earlier this year, when Canelo Alvarez was asked about the outcome of Ryan Garcia vs. ‘Tank‘ Davis, he stated that ‘Tank’ had more experience than Garia in boxing.

Alvarez had said, “It’s a good fight for boxing. I think Tank has got more experience. That’s what I think, but in boxing, you never know.” Garcia is 24 and Davis is 28. While Davis made his pro debut in 2013, Garcia stepped inside the pro ring in 2016.

Davis fought his last fight in May this year against Rolando Romero in Brooklyn. However, Garcia fought his last in July against Javier Fortuna to secure a KO win. With the announcement of the fight, here is what their resumes tell.

On the other hand, Garcia, who made his debut in 2016, has fought 23 fights. In pro boxing, he has 0 losses and 23 wins. 19 of his wins come by a knockout.
Both are power punchers but have their own way of approaching a fight. However, when the two will share the ring, Garcia will have a vivid reach advantage against Davis.
