Canelo Alvarez Gives Straightforward Prediction for David Benavidez vs. Caleb Plant Fight

Another blockbuster fight is set for 2023. In the first half of 2023, David Benavidez will fight Caleb Plant to walk even closer to Canelo Alvarez and his likes in the ring. Plant, 30, is 22-1 and had his last victory against Anthony Dirrell on October 15. Benavidez, 25, on the other hand, stands undefeated with 26 professional wins. Currently, Benavidez holds the WBC interim World Super Middleweight title in boxing and looks forward to facing Alvarez inside the ring.
For some time now, the boxing world has pondered over when Alvarez and Benavidez will finally meet. However, Alvarez is yet not contemplating a Benavidez fight. Instead, he wants to focus on a rematch with Dmitry Bivol who he fought on May 7th at T-Mobile. Despite not wanting to fight Benavidez now, Alvarez stated the likely outcome of the Plant vs. Benavidez fight.

After the Benavidez vs. Plant fight was announced for 2023, Canelo Alvarez said, “Let’s see what happens in that fight. Truthfully, it’s a competitive fight. But for me, I think Benavidez wins. But like I said, my main objective is rematch with Bivol.” While stating the outcome of Benavidez vs.Plant, Alvarez expressed his main objective.

Does Dmitry Bivol want to fight Canelo Alvarez?

After his loss to Bivol on May 7th at T-Mobile, Alvarez squared off against ‘GGG’ on September 17. Recently, Alvarez said he would want to face Bivol in September 2023. However, Bivol had something else to say about a rematch with Alvarez in boxing. Bivol is more keen on building a legacy. In doing so, he wants to fight for another belt in pro boxing.
On being asked if he would fight Alvarez in a rematch in 2023, Bivol said, “I may not box him now. It’s up to me to choose what I want.” While Bivol plans to fight someone else, Alvarez thinks of having a tune-up style fight in May 2023 and then face Bivol in September for yet another fight.
