Canelo Alvarez is the biggest brand in the sport of boxing today. He is a true veteran of the sport with an astonishing resume. Alvarez has enjoyed many glorious fights inside the ring, but his battles with Gennady Golovkin have undeniably topped the charts.
Recently, Canelo added another dominant win over Callum Smith to win the super-middleweight titles. Post this fight, the only battle that entices his fans is a trilogy with ‘GGG’.
Canelo Alvarez on Gennady Golovkin: "I don't have to prove anything to anyone, I did my job already by beating him twice… I feel like I'm at my peak. If it happens a third time, I feel so good that I could most likely knock him out and do some serious damage." [@RingMagazine] pic.twitter.com/DDOwrRQuex

Canelo recently opened up on this electrifying clash and Golovkin as an opponent.
As per Michael Benson, Canelo said, “I don’t have to prove anything to anyone, I did my job already by beating him twice… I feel like I’m at my peak. If it happens a third time, I feel so good that I could most likely knock him out and do some serious damage.”
The fight ended with a controversial draw when the pair met each other for the first time inside the ring. In their second outing, the Mexican boxer stood tall and won the fight via majority decision.
Alvarez has made a mammoth statement pertaining to his trilogy against arch-foe, ‘GGG’. He seemed elated to crush the Kazakh boxer in their third appearance. However, Alvarez has moved to super-middleweight now and ‘GGG’ holds the IBF belt, a notch down at 160-pounds.

Will Canelo Alvarez vs Gennady Golovkin happen in 2021?
The Mexican boxer is keen for an extensive run at the super-middleweight roster. Alvarez will defend his WBC title against Avni Yildirim and will challenge Billy Joe Saunders for his WBO super-middleweight belt. He will fight twice until mid-2021. The Mexican is pretty keen on unifying his 168-pound titles.
The trilogy seems impossible until the first half of 2021. Even in the latter half, it can only happen if the Mexican boxer goes down or ‘GGG’ moves up to challenge him at 168-pounds.
