Carrington highlights the dynamics of the match, emphasizing Teofimo’s struggle to cut off the ring and Jamaine’s hesitation to take risks. According to Carrington, Teofimo’s power intimidated Ortis, while Ortis’s footwork frustrated Lopez. Carrington underscores the significance of these observations at the elite level, stating, “Those are the interesting things that you got to look out for and watch when those guys are on that level.”

He cautions against the repercussions of such a performance, especially when calling out top-tier fighters like Terence Crawford, noting, “(You) can’t be fighting like that calling out Terence Crawford. You know you’ll turn Terence Crawford off not even want to continue to entertain that.” Carrington suggests that such a display could discourage Crawford from considering the challenge. Despite the criticisms, he acknowledges the overall competitiveness of the bout, expressing his belief that it could have been a draw. In the meantime, Ortiz is not satisfied with the result.
