Carlos Castro Survives Early Adversity, Stops Oscar Escandon in Round 10

The vacant WBC Continental Americas featherweight title fight between Carlos Castro and Oscar Escandon stayed true to the hype created around it. Both the fighters went all guns blazing against each other and entertained the fans throughout. However, in the end, it was Carlos Castro who came out on top with a fine T/KO win.
Right from the first bell, the lanky Castro tried to cut the distance. However, Escandon began his true assault and landed some slick power punches in the first round itself. The veteran even came out with a blistering hit that left Castro wobbling. But after the round concluded, Castro stayed composed.

Escandon applied pressure and kept his adversary on his toes. And because of his short frame, the Colombian fighter could dodge the heat coming off his undefeated opponent’s hands.
But as the fight progressed, Castro got into the element and began landing some power hits on ‘El Guerrero’.
The 27-year-old used his jabs and came out with some solid defense in later rounds. On the other hand, Escandon relied heavily on his uppercuts.
In round 4, as Escandon had Castro on the ropes, he came out with some powerful blows. Over the course of the fight, the duo displayed some of the best jabs and powerful hooks, keeping the fans intrigued.

In round 6, Carlos Castro, who had his moments, came out with a combination to leave his veteran rival stunned. Castro continued his assault in round 7 and was almost on the brink of knocking out Escandon. Despite the onslaught, the latter stood tall and counter-attacked well.
