Claressa Shields is about to enter the smart cage against Kelsey DeSantis on February 24 in a PFL x Bellator event in Saudi Arabia. However, she is more focused on antagonizing Alycia Baumgardner on social media. Last year, ‘The Bomb’ Baumgardner became the center of controversy after testing positive for banned substances in her system.

However, it became an issue for Shields when the once-good friend, Baumgardner, called out Shields for a fight. Of course, Shields accepted the challenge, but nothing has come out of it yet. So, she seems to have launched a war of some very spicy words on the undisputed featherweight champion. In her latest wave of attack, ‘The Goat’ Shields turned to social media roping in Baugradner’s drug fiasco today!

Hopping on what seems to be her favorite social media platform, X (formerly Twitter), the two-weight division undisputed champion penned some not-so-nice words for Baumgardner. “Look like the bomb has been detonated. Ya mama a pu**y b%^€h H03,” wrote Shields. She then proceeded to claim that she won’t stop calling her out.

“I’m [going to] keep saying your name & I want to see what you [going to] do about it! Alycia, Alycia, Alycia. You [are not about] that life in no way or fashion! You wish you could be an ounce of what I am! 154 you,” wrote Shields. However, this wasn’t enough! Shields had more ammunition in her arsenal.

In the following tweet, Shields brought up what is perhaps the most sensitive aspect of Baumgardner’s boxing career –  her drug fiasco. “I’d be mad too if I was just 1x Undisputed with PED steroid charges, love. I get it! Let me, let you, hurt in peace! It’s clear you triggered today,” wrote Shields. However, it’s worth mentioning that Baumgardner has been cleared partly of her drug-related accusations.

WBC cleared Alycia Baumgardner

Baumgardner is allowed to fight now. Well, at least partly! According to a January 16 tweet from Michael Benson, “The WBC have found Alycia Baumgardner not guilty of intentionally ingesting a banned substance for performance enhancement purposes in their investigation into her positive drugs test, and so she will remain the WBC super-featherweight world champion.”

Benson revealed that the investigation into Baumgardner has produced “no conclusive justification to reject the accuracy of the adverse finding.” However, “evidence and arguments do not conclusively support Baumgardner’s intentional ingestion of Mesterolone” for enhancing her performance. At the same time, other sanctioning bodies are yet to comment on Baumbgardner’s fate.

Despite being friends in the past, these two female boxing champions are at odds with each other. It has created a crack in their relationship that can only be filled once they get in the ring against each other. However, when that may happen is still unclear, especially because Shields thinks Baumgardner should be the one climbing weight divisions to fight her. What did you think about Shield’s comments? Do you think the ungodly language was necessary?
