After Claressa Shields defeated Kelsey DeSantis, former UFC Featherweight champion Cris Cyborg alleged that Shields failed to make the initial weight for the fight. According to Cyborg, as Shields could not make 155 lbs, ‘T-Rex’ had to move up and fight at 165 lbs. Therefore, Cyborg even suggested Shields hire a “professional nutritionist” soon. In this context, the legendary boxer now revealed the prospect of beating Cris Cyborg in 2018.

In her latest appearance on The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani, Claressa Shields ripped apart Cris Cyborg. After revealing that the former UFC fighter backed out from a fight, Shields challenged the mixed martial artist. Here is what ‘T-Rex’, who just resumed her MMA career, said.

Speaking about her “beef” with Cris Cyborg, Claressa Shields informed Ariel Helwani that a person offered a good amount of money to stage Shields vs. Cris. Following the offer, Shields claimed to have contacted Cyborg too. “A guy had some money for me and Cris Cyborg to fight. He was speaking of a fight as big as Tyson Fury vs. Francis Ngannou right? I said I got the perfect person…. Amanda Nunes retired…. So, I thought of Cris. And she was my friend. I hit her up,” said Shields.

However, Cris wanted Claressa Shields to come down to 147 lbs despite being initially told the fight would only happen at 154 lbs. Meanwhile, Cris even later declared she would beat Claressa at 147 lbs. To this, Shields added, “She said she would knock me out at 147…. When I fought against Cris Cyborg in 2018, I took it easy on her…. The first and the second round, I beat the s**t out of Cris Cyborg.”
