Although IBF assigned Terence Crawford a mandatory title defense against Jaron Ennis, the former, being already bound by a contract, failed to negotiate with ‘Boots’ in time. As a result, after Errol Spence Jr. activated the rematch clause with Crawford, former IBF Interim Welterweight title holder Ennis was promoted to the IBF Welterweight champion. In light of this incident, a section claimed ‘Boots’ could never have won the title had he faced ‘Bud’ in the ring.
According to many, ‘Bud’ would have retained his IBF belt if it was not legally mandatory to accept the Spence Jr. rematch. In this context, as an old clip of Ennis’ sparring resurfaced, several fans questioned Jaron’s abilities. Here is what they are saying.

Fans criticize Jaron Ennis as he spins in the middle of sparring
In the clip that has now gone viral, Ennis is seen sparring using a southpaw stance. At one point in their fight, as Ennis’ opponent lowers his head, the former spins like a running back carrying a football before throwing a spinning left hook. In addition, as his opponent takes his steps back, Ennis, compromising his guard closes in on the distance. Then, ‘Boots’ rains his punches on his rattled sparring partner who is barely skilled. As a result, in a reply to the clip, one said, “A fearless skilled fighter can beat him. He needs to stop fighting construction workers.”

Similarly, one wrote, “Spin move is stunning but against an elite fighter, he’d be knocked TF out if he tried that.”
Meanwhile, one said, “Crawford is the true test for him.”
However, one found the “Spin move crazy.”
But, one said, “Boots Ennis is overrated.”
At this, while fans felt ‘Boots’ needed to face ‘Bud’, the former recently jabbed Crawford.

Ennis feels Crawford is avoiding him deliberately
Although several fans are confident that Crawford would put Ennis in a fix, the latter believes Crawford is avoiding him deliberately. In his opinion, since ‘Bud’ would not win against ‘Boots’ he chose the easier fight against Errol Spence Jr. Likewise, he recently took to X and indirectly jabbed Crawford with a post of his. “What’s gonna be their excuse now!?” he wrote.

Anyway, hopefully, Crawford and Ennis would eventually fight. Of course, should Crawford want to regain his undisputed status, he would have to face Ennis. But, what do you think of the resurfaced clip? Let us know in the comments below.
