Today, Oleksandr Usyk sits at the helm of the heavyweight class with four major world titles in his kitty. These achievements have come to him after the fighter has defended his position against the might of most fighters in his league. Well, expect Tyson Fury, yes, and another fighter. Have you wondered why Deontay Wilder, one of the best heavyweights of this era, has not fought Usyk yet? Wilder blames Usyk for it.
Earlier, in a bold statement made to 78SPORTSTV, ‘The Bronze Bomber’ had revealed that despite offering the Ukrainian fighter multiple lucrative fights, the latter has always dodged him. The reason? Wilder claimed the world champion was terrified of him. Without sparing any words, the hard-hitting fighter noted, “I don’t think Usyk really cares. As long as he ain’t got to fight me. I don’t think he cares. As long as he don’t have to fight me, it’s all good because that man is terrified of me.” Now, with his Joseph Parker fight almost here, he spared some time from training to further these allegations.

Deontay Wilder Still Interested in Fighting Usyk
Andi Purewal of Boxing News is confident that a fight between the heavyweight stalwarts would be heavily watched by fans. Wilder agrees, but he alleges that Usyk does not want the fight. In exclusive revelations, Bronze Bomber noted, “I would love to have that fight. I tried to get that fight three times and he denied me. He don’t know what I know, but I know what he don’t know. I am one of those fighters that people will try to avoid for as long as possible.”
Furthering explaining his stance that most fighters would not like to fight him, Wilder emphasized that a world champion like Usyk could not afford to lose a fight against him. Why? “A lot of these guys don’t want to face me especially when you’re a champion. Because you look at it as like this could be the end of my career and/or my title is going to get taken away from me. So I don’t really have an opportunity of time to make the presence or the money that I want to do, so these guys avoid me as long as possible,” remarked Wilder.
Wilder seems to never shy away from any fight. Be it the Oleksandr Usyk fight or even a fourth fight with his old rival, Tyson Fury.

Wilder wants a fourth Tyson Fury fight
‘Dr. Sleep’, a new nickname that the fighter has grown fond of, “most definitely” wants the fourth installment of his fight with the ‘Gypsy King’. In his 35-fight-long undefeated career, one opponent that’s given him a hard time is Wilder himself. In 2018, their maiden clash was declared a draw after Wilder managed to drop Fury twice. Two years later, in 2020, Fury came back, fuming to avenge the loss of sorts, and dropped Wilder twice, winning via a TKO. At their trilogy fight, a year later, Fury would hold on to his victory with a KO win over Wilder.
