Ahead of the Hector Luis Garcia fight on the 7th of January, Gervonta Davis spoke about his ‘overlooked’ boxing abilities. In addition, ‘Tank’, 28, claimed himself to be the ‘most hated fighter’ in boxing. Despite having an unbeaten record of 25 knockouts and 27 wins, Davis feels people have overlooked his ring IQ and boxing abilities.

However, Davis, in his latest statement, has also remained brutally honest concerning his career in the sport of boxing. According to Davis, he is yet to reach the milestone where he himself desires to be. ‘Tank’ feels his upcoming fight against Hector Luis Garcia is just another step closer to reaching his dream. “This is just me trying to get over that hump. I don’t think of it as a dream come true. I’m not where I want to be yet. This fight is the next step,” declared Davis.
‘Overlooked’ Gervonta Davis is ready to shut everyone up with his upcoming fight
Only 5′ 5½″ tall, Davis, who has scored against some of the best fighters, especially those taller and bigger than him, feels there is a cloth of doubt dressing his boxing abilities. Regarding the matter, the WBA World Lightweight title holder spoke openly. “It’s definitely overlooked, for sure. I feel as though I’m probably the most hated fighter, I think so,” said Davis.

In addition, Davis felt the urge to shut those up who doubted him. “I’m just ready to shut everyone up. All the talking that’s going around, I just want to go in the ring and shut them all up,” added Davis.

Davis spoke about being focused ahead of Hector Luis
Although he is cruising with 0 losses and 27 wins, there is no excuse for Davis to underestimate who he is fighting. According to Davis, the southpaw is well-aware of what Luis Garcia is regularly doing. “I’ve always been the guy who stays focused and knows that whoever is in front of me is a threat. We know that [Hector Luis] Garcia is coming,” said Davis.
