David Benavidez is finally one step closer to making his long-awaited fight against Canelo Alvarez. In a matter of days, he will face off against Demetrius Andrade at the Michelob Ultra Arena, in Las Vegas. As the pivotal bout approaches, Robert Garcia, a respected figure in the boxing community has come out in support of Andrade.
As the fight approaches, ‘the Mexican Monster’ has compared Boo Boo with Caleb Plant. He has claimed that it will be an easy victory for him come fight night. However, Robert Garcia holds a different opinion of Andrade as he gave his opinion on the upcoming fight.

In a recent interview with Fight Hub TV, former world champion Robert Garcia shared his opinion on Andrade. He stated, “For some reason, the media, the fans, kind of started, you know, not liking his style, because maybe he fights boring, but he’s got skills man. He gets things done, he’s got some really good skills”. Moreover, he added, “he’s physically pretty strong too, but fighting under somebody like Mikey or Nonito, well his fights became boring. But nah, he’s actually a very talented fighter.”

He also talked about how Boo Boo fought some fights under the Matchroom banner and its adverse effect on his career. He claimed that no one cared about those fights which led him to fade away. However, he also pointed out, “But his name wasn’t brought up also because he’s also maybe not very well known. Maybe he’s not gonna sell that much maybe he’s not that popular, but he’s also very dangerous to beat you.”
He claimed, “He’s gonna put up a good fight. Do I think Benavidez wins? Yeah, but it’s still gonna be a good fight. It’s gonna be a fight where he’s gonna show that people were wrong about him.” Interestingly, his younger brother holds a similar opinion.
Mikey Garcia predicts the outco0me of the upcoming fight
In a recent discussion with Fight Hub TV, a former world champion shared insights into the upcoming bout between Andrade and Benavidez. Emphasizing on Andrade’s skills, the ex-champion mentioned, “Boo Boo Andrade is slick, he’s got experience, tricky, he’s not one dimensional so he’ll give Benavidez trouble.”

Despite recognizing Andrade’s prowess, the former champion believes Benavidez will adapt quickly to Andrade’s style. Addressing the stylistic differences between the fighters, the expert stated, “Especially in the first half of the fight, I think Benavidez will eventually figure things out, pick things up.” He added, “Maybe like the eighth or ninth round, figure things out to pick it up”. He added, “I see him winning, and it’s not going to be an easy match.”
