In the fall of 2022, the fans were buckling up to witness the outcome of an age-old rivalry between the two boxers, Conor Benn and Chris Eubank Jr. But the fight couldn’t come to fruition, as Benn was banned by UKAD for using a prohibited substance before the fight. This fight was titled ‘Born Rivals’, majorly because the fathers of the two boxers, Nigel Benn and Chris Eubank, had also fought twice back in 1990 and 1993. The first fight was won by Eubank by a TKO, while the second turned out to be a split decision draw. The third fight would have been the answer to this prolonged rivalry – the clash between their sons, but it was postponed.

But all hope is not lost, as Benn’s promoter, Eddie Hearn has come forward recently and talked about how they’re desperate to make this bout happen. And they are aware that this fight will generate immense revenue for them as many British fans would want to see this fight.

Then he revealed shocking data about the fight that the British fans would have lapped up in massive numbers. He said, “It was the fastest selling event, boxing event at the O2, it was the highest grossing gate at the O2 of all time and it’s massive.

Then he stated that everybody wants that fight to happen, including Benn and Eubank Jr. So, Hearn assured that their team is doing everything they can to make it happen soon. Not long ago, Hearn also shed some light on what’s going on with Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua.

When? That’s the key but it’s the fight to make,” Hearn said. But then the interviewer pressed the British promoter, to give the boxing fans some estimate, as to when they can expect this fight, and what venue they’re planning for this mega fight.

Hearn revealed in the interview, that the fight could happen anytime this year, he said, “It could be August, it could be September, could be December.” But he made it clear that it would be a bit difficult for them to organize the event in the United Kingdom, mainly because of the UKAD terms.

And currently, his focus is not to dwell on all of that lengthy process, so Hearn hinted at the fact that the fight may happen in Abu Dhabi if it ever got sanctioned. Although he’d love to conduct the bout in the UK, he stated that organizers in Abu Dhabi understand how big of a fight Benn-Eubank Jr actually is.
