Eddie Hearn Teases Massive Fights for Gennady Golovkin – Jermall Charlo, Demetrius Andrade and More Make the List

Following a hiatus of more than a year, middleweight great Gennady Golovkin will enter the ring against an unbeaten Kamil Szeremeta on December 18th at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel, which will see GGG’s IBO and IBF straps put at stake.
However, Golovkin’s fight has been overshadowed by Canelo Alvarez’s return, who will face Callum Smith just a day later at the Alamodome Stadium in Texas.
That said, the inevitable rivalry of Golovkin and Alvarez is still relevant on the charts. The duo has fought twice. The first fight ended in a controversial draw, and the second bout ended with GGG’s maiden defeat in his pro-career.

While they were set to meet for the trilogy, the pugilists went ahead with different opponents before locking horns for the third time.
Matchroom CEO Eddie Hearn is ready to set up the trilogy, but not at the cost of GGG’s inactivity. If Alvarez doesn’t turn up, Hearn claims to put Golovkin against other challenges of the middleweight unit.
Hearn connected with Fight Hype.com to discuss several things. One being GGG’s possible future. He still considers Golovkin as an exciting fighter and doesn’t mind billing him against the likes of Charlo or Munguia.
The Matchroom CEO said, “He (Gennady) will fight Charlo. He will fight Munguia and he will fight Andrade. If the Canelo Alvarez fight doesn’t present itself but a lot has got to happen this weekend for that to be the case.
“But you know pound-for-pound, you have to say. I think he is still the most exciting fighter on the planet.”

38-year-old GGG has been through several wars and boasts of a pro record of 40 wins (35 KOs) with one defeat against Alvarez.
He debuted professionally in 2006 and has been one of the most active boxers since then. He took 6 fights in his debut year and the trail went on.

However, considering his age, GGG hasn’t been that active in the past 2 years. The middleweight division is also stacked at this stage with umpteen elites on the ride. So, it will be Golovkin’s responsibility to prove that he is still relevant amongst them.
