Eddie Hearn Pitches Massive Idea to Host a Tyson Fury Fight

WBC champion Tyson Fury and Matchroom Promoter Eddie Hearn have rarely shown love for each other. They have constantly taken shots at each other, demeaning the other’s valid progress in the combat business. However, Hearn’s recent comments indicate that he could work with ‘The Gypsy King’.

Following Anthony Joshua’s loss against Oleksandr Usyk, the best Eddie Hearn can offer Tyson Fury is Dillian Whyte.

Whyte’s WBC Interim title also puts him ahead of everyone in getting a shot at the gold. Hence, Whyte vs Fury can potentially happen if the promoters don’t complicate the scene.

As for Hearn, he doesn’t mind Dillian Whyte fighting under some other promotion. Per The Mirror, Eddie Hearn connected with the media and said, “I don’t think Tyson Fury is going to care who promotes the fight.”

“That is why I believe a purse bid is probably the most likely scenario here, I don’t think Fury is going to care if Bob Arum promotes it.”

He added, “But I have no problem with Dillian fighting on another promoter’s show at all, and we will be with him promoting him and behind him but he wants to do it on a Matchroom show. Whyte was supposed to face Otto Wallin on October 30, which didn’t happen due to his bicep injury. Now, he can get a direct shot at Tyson Fury or may not. A lot can happen at this stage.

Do we really need Tyson Fury vs Dillian Whyte?

The heavyweight matchup between Whyte and Fury will bring two vicious Brit boxers against each other. It will be highly marketable. However, ‘The Gypsy King’ looks favorable to vanquish ‘The Body Snatcher’ any day. As Tyson Fury has proved himself against some of the best in the division, Whyte may not intrigue him.

Considering that Whyte is mandatory to Fury, we need to see this fight as it will allow the winner to brush aside forced defenses and challenge the unified champion.

All it takes is one punch in heavyweight boxing and Dillian Whyte is known for that. He is a hard-hitter and has overpowered several A-listers in his professional career. However, as Fury rose from Deontay Wilder‘s thunderous right hand, it will be interesting to see whether Whyte can offer more power.
