Almost every boxer in the whole world wants to fight Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez. The Mexican Monster has only faced two defeats in his entire life with sixty wins. One of his defeats came at the hands of the legendary Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather, while the other was against the undefeated Dmitry Bivol. With a record like his, it is no wonder that all his fights bring in huge amounts of PPVs.

While a fight between Canelo and David Benavidez has been long anticipated, it is nowhere near sight. Recently, Brooklyn-born undefeated fighter Edgar Berlanga went on Fight Hub TV to talk about how he is the right opponent for Canelo after Benavidez.

Berlanga in the interview talked about his upcoming fight against Padraig McCrory. He later went on to talk about a possible fight against Alvarez in May. Berlanga said, “Yeah of course, Oh yeah you know that’ll be perfect because I’ll just be coming off a win, a beautiful win um I just feel like you know I got to perform this next fight I got to really make a statement,” showing that he really needs to beat McCrory dominantly in order to make his way into Canelo’s radar.

He went on to acknowledge Canelo’s reign at his weight saying, “He the boss at 168 you know he makes the move he’s the money man at 168 so you know he could do whatever he wants to do when he feels like it um and you know you can’t take that away from him.”

Berlanga then proceeded to claim that he was the biggest fight for Alvarez besides Benavidez. “You know, I dont think, besides you know, Benavidez, I don’t think there’s another bigger fight out there for him,” stated the 21-0 fighter. It seems Berlanga is not the only boxer calling Canelo out right now. Let us find out who else is doing it as well.
