Erickson Lubin will fight anybody
As Tim Tszyu’s boxing journey gains momentum in the US, negotiations for his March title defense took an unexpected turn. Erickson Lubin, the potential opponent, faced accusations of withdrawing due to Tszyu’s rising popularity. However, Lubin refuted these claims, emphasizing that he awaited a finalized date for the bout.

Expressing surprise at the news, Lubin stated, “Wait what? This is news to me. I was waiting on the date.” Responding to speculation that he was avoiding Tszyu, he asserted, “Don’t start some sh*t you know nothing about; I’ll fight anybody.”
Lubin’s trainer, Kevin Cunningham, criticized reports of Lubin’s withdrawal, highlighting, “How did @EricksonHammerL turn down something that was never formally offered?”
Despite Lubin (26-2) being a prime WBO contender, this episode sheds light on the challenges of arranging a fight. Tszyu’s growing reputation in the US ensures he remains a sought-after opponent, attracting top-rated stars willing to share the ring with him.
