Errol Spence Jr., the unified welterweight champion is currently one of the best pound-for-pound boxers in the world. His potential fight against Terence Crawford still remains one of the fights that fans have been drooling for a long time. Rumors of the fight started appearing this year too, it was stated that the fighters were in negotiations over the phone. However, fans refused to believe that, given the number of times the rumors were put to rest in the past.

Spence Jr. has been out of the game ever since he defeated Yordenis Ugas in April 2022. However, it seems that fans may get to watch Spence Jr. in the ring once again. Recently, Spence Jr. has hinted at his potential return to the ring.

Errol Spence Jr. who is one of the best welterweights as of now, has taken two long breaks. Previously, he had been out of boxing for 16 months after facing Danny Garcia. And he hasn’t fought anyone since his fight against Ugas. His hiatus has caused some dissatisfaction among fans. However, ‘The Truth’ previously revealed that the reason for him taking a break from boxing is because of the previous accidents he has been in.

Spence Jr. has recently posted something that can excite any boxing fan. He might be finally ready to make his return to the ring. He recently took to Instagram to share a picture on his Instagram Story. The picture was of gloves and what appears to be headgear. In the caption, he wrote, “First Day…”. If it really means what it seems like, then this is huge news for the whole boxing world. So, what were the accidents that kept Errol Spence away from the ring?

Tragic accidents that kept Spence Jr. away from the ring

Spence Jr. is a very talented fighter, however, the only one who can stand in his way is himself. He has gotten himself into accidents twice. Ahead of his bout against Ugas, he shared that the combined loss from both of the car accidents cost his insurance company a whopping $600,000. What’s more shocking is that he got into a second accident just three months after his previous one.

However, it seems that it was not his fault the second time. He recounted the incident previously to Kate Abdo. He revealed, “I actually got into another accident three months after my accident. Somebody hit me from behind.” Abdo then asks Spence if the accident shook him up. To which he replied, “It shook me up a little bit”. He even joked that he is always getting ‘killed’. Furthermore, he shared that his insurance company ‘kicked’ him out after the second accident.

His first accident certainly was a brutal one. He was reportedly driving pretty fast without his seatbelts on. So when his Ferrari started flipping, he was ejected out in a state of severe shock. Although he survived, he had to be hospitalized and the incident ended up having a deep effect on his career. What do you think about the situation?
