The dust has settled, but the question is still unanswered. Curiosity remains. Will Mike Tyson fight again? If he does, who could be on his list? The speculations run high, and the rumors mill has pushed his rivals from the past to the front. But it seems it is Evander Holyfield who might be leading the race, at least in the fan circles.

Tyson, 58, turned back the clock when he fought Jake Paul this November, but it ended in a dismal performance. The fans didn’t get what they wanted—’Iron Mike’ unloading heavy punches. Will a second outing give them what they are looking for? For Michael Jai White, it depends. Especially on the type of fighter the former world champion would be up against.

White, 57, expressed his candid opinion about Tyson, at 50-7, and when asked about his potential next fight, floated the idea of Holyfield, 62, as one name he would like to see. The action star told VladTV, “It depends on who he gets in the ring with, you know. I mean, he could get in there with Holyfield again.”

The American actor then also made the host aware of Holyfield’s last fight, which came against Victor Belfort. The fight ended in a first-round KO loss for ‘The Real Deal’. Michael Jai White continued, “Did you see Holyfield’s last fight? [He lost] to Vitor Belfort. He was knocked out by Vitor Belfort.”

While the ‘Spawn’ actor is backing his idea to pit the two former rivals against each other, he is not alone. Holyfield, at 44-10-2, also expressed his desire for a trilogy fight involving Tyson after the latter had finished fighting ‘Problem Child’. But it seems the fans are already witnessing the trilogy go down.

Mike Tyson vs. Evander Holyfield: trilogy but not in the ring

When Holyfield turned to his social media handles, suggesting that the fans wanted a trilogy fight between the two, Tyson had an amusing response. The Brooklyn native wrote in the comments, “I love you, brother, but the trilogy is our friendship.” In the end, Holyfield gave in to Tyson’s idea of their friendship being the trilogy fight.

Holyfield declared in a separate post, “But Mike’s right—the trilogy is our friendship and respect. The fans have spoken—no need for gloves to keep this friendship strong!” The two fought twice, with Holyfield winning the first encounter in 1996, along with the WBA belt. But it’s their rematch and Tyson’s ear-biting incident, which made their rematch (in)famous. So, the fans can at least strike off Holyfield’s name off potential opponents for Tyson now.
