Evander Holyfield’s Son Open to Fighting Muhammad Ali’s Grandson: ‘That’d Be Mad Cool’

Have you ever wondered what would be the result if two legends Evander Holyfield and Muhammad Ali came face to face? Well, it’d definitely be a mind-throbbing bout but it indeed isn’t possible. Recently, Evan Holyfield, son of Evander Holyfield, asked questions to his fans on his Instagram story. And in one of those questions, Evan Holyfield spits out that he won’t deny if a possibility arises to fight against Nico Ali Walsh, grandson of Muhammad Ali

The fans wanted to see the prospect of prodigies fighting with each other, kept open. And they did get it from the recent story of Evan Holyfield’s Instagram. The fighters have potential and that builds up the anticipation of the fight even more.

Evan Holyfield made his debut as a professional boxer on November 2, 2019. And the first step in his career began with a bang as he TKO’ed Nick Wenstead in just 16 seconds of the first round. Since then, he’s got many eyes on him. His record holds 9 wins, out of which 6 are knockout, against 1 loss.

Nico Ali Walsh first set foot inside the ring as a professional boxer on August 14, 2021, and he wore his grandfather Muhammad Ali’s white Everlast shorts which he got in 2016 after Ali’s death. His record holds 7 wins, with 5 knockouts and no losses. And in one of his matches, Nico Ali Walsh also recreated the iconic Muhammad Ali photo.

Recently, Evan Holyfield let his fans ask him questions on an Instagram story, where one of the questions spoke the mind of millions, it read, “Would you ever fight Nico Ali Walsh?” and to that question, Holyfield said what everybody wanted to hear. He said, “That’d be mad cool in the future.”

The fight between these two fighters would be a dream come true for a lot of fans and it’d definitely be a great spectacle. The fight will cater to the new fans as well as the older fans of the sport. And it’d also answer the most important question, who will actually win the fight?

The closest the fighters got to each other

In 2021, Evan Holyfield and Nico Ali Walsh actually had a bout with different opponents on the same undercard. Evander Holyfield’s son was fighting against Charles Stanford Jr., and he won the match via knockout in the second round. And Muhammad Ali’s grandson was fighting against James Wesley II and he too won the match by knockout, but in the third round. So obviously, both of the young boxers won their respective matches via knockout on the same night under the same roof.

Since then, there is no news of these two fighters fighting against each other. But the fans can surely hope that to happen one day, and when that happens, that night will surely go down in the books of history.
