Katie Taylor is moving up two weight classes to face Chantelle Cameron, as she aspires to become the two-weight undisputed champion after this bout. Now, according to the plans, the undercard of Taylor vs. Cameron was supposed to have seven fights, but according to some undue circumstances, it has been reduced to just six fights. As one of the undercard fights, Cecilia Brækhus vs. Terri Harper has been canceled because Brækhus has caught the flu and is not in the condition to face Harper right now.

At the Weigh-In, Brækhus gave the news on her Twitter that she was feeling “great” but then this Saturday morning, she felt all the flu-like symptoms, which stopped her from participating in the upcoming fight. She was supposed to challenge Harper for her WBA junior middleweight title. It was quite a big stage too, as this was the first boxing event in seven years in the country of Ireland. For their fight, Taylor has been training with the UFC legend Conor McGregor and even shared her experience with the fans.

The fans came in support of ‘The First Lady’ and asked her not to be too stressed about it and take her rest properly. It was a wise decision on Brækhus’ end to not push herself for a fight, as she’ll always get another chance.

One of the fans, Rocky Ali, stated that such things happen and that one should not get demoralized because of it. They asked Brækhus to recover soon and come back for the fight stronger.

Another fan named Tom felt heartbroken by the news and wished the boxer for “speedy recovery”.

Brandon Cuttino wished for her Brækhus to get better as soon as possible.

One user called the whole situation “terrible“, but at the same time, showed hope for the future.

Prom Oter stated that they were looking forward to seeing Brækhus inside the ring. They also wrote that it’s unfortunate that her fight will be canceled now.
