An old pic of Floyd Mayweather Jr. sitting beside rapper 50 Cent has garnered over five hundred comments and over two thousand likes. Shared on Facebook by the handle @Boxing War, it talks about the infamous feud between the world-famous rapper and the former five-division champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. As it is now reasonably well known, the two were once very close friends but went separate ways because of the difference that developed reportedly over financial matters.

According to an article in Mirror, 50 Cent reported that Mayweather Jr. wanted him to manage his promotional venture in 2012. The latter was, at the time, incarcerated for domestic violence. According to the rapper, he ran the firm effectively and even got boxers signed up. However, he was denied his share of the $2 million payout by the time the champion came out of prison, 50 Cent alleged.

According to 50 Cent, “After he asked me to [help] him get Mayweather promotion Popping off. I paid for the LLC, Lambos, the promotions, get him chains, and make him look rich. I said, ‘Yo when I’m I getting the money for all of this?’

The rapper also revealed Mayweather ignored him for a while and later said, “I never told you to buy all of these things for me’. He owes me $2 million dollars.”

A barrage of fans react to the post of Floyd Mayweather Jr. and 50 Cent’s estrangement

A user named Marilyn called 50 Cent a “bully” and mentioned that probably without a “contract”, he just got himself latched on to Mayweahter Jr. Clearly, he had it planned all the way, “50 is a bully – without contact, he just poured into another man . . . clearly 50 Cent had an agenda – Floyd doesn’t owe him sh*t.

A user named Henry, too, opined that by all accounts, Floyd Mayweather Jr. is one of the most helping-minded individuals. However, he is yet to hear a similar voice for the rapper. He said, “I’ve heard so many accounts from different folks who swear that Floyd is the most trusting and helping person they know. I’ve never heard anyone speak like that about 50 Cent. In fact, I’ve heard the exact opposite from different folks who don’t even know each other or travel in the same circles. Mayweathers Children, baby mama, sister, grandma, best friend from the amateurs, uncles, father, business partners, and fighters all speak highly of Floyd Mayweather….

Another user named Morales Freddy Wilfredo also believes that in the absence of a ‘signed agreement,’ Mayweather Jr. need not pay. More so, had there been an authentic document, 50 Cent would have dragged the champion to the courthouse. The law would treat it as a mere gift. “All I know is if he did this without [a] signed agreement, there’s no reason for a payback. If it [were] legally binding, 50c would have [taken] it to court already. In the court’s eyes, they’ll look at [it] as a gift. Take that L 50c. Play nice with your friend. You know you miss your boi,” he said.

But the following user seems to think differently. One user named Ranji believes that Floyd Mayweather Jr. is bankrupt. So why would he still fight exhibition matches that barely anyone watches? He said, “Floyd is broke. Why else would he be fighting for an obscure PPV platform in front of no one, risking his life [by] taking unnecessary punches at this age?

Lastly, one user believes that the allegations could be true. “Probably is true. Mayweather, as good as he is a boxer, maybe what he does outside the ring isn’t all that good. He still hasn’t paid Logan Paul yet, either, and Fifty ain’t the type to lie like that,” he said.

Fans might not have forgotten the reading challenge from 50 Cent to Mayweather Jr. According to the former, the champion could barely read. Hence, as part of the challenge, he wanted him to read a few pages from Harry Potter, which was later changed to Cat in The Hat. However, according to a few reports, the two seemed to have buried the hatchet and once again shook hands as friends. What’s your take on the whole issue?
