“Find a Way to Make It Right”: Oscar De La Hoya Being Banned From Ryan Garcia’s Locker Room Prompts Fans to Laud ‘Kingry’ for “Standing Up for Himself”

The highly anticipated clash between Ryan Garcia and Oscar Duarte ended up in favor of Garcia with an 8th-round KO. However, before the bout, Oscar De La Hoya offered his perspective on the upcoming bout. ‘KingRy’ was poised to step back into the boxing ring to face the surging Duarte, who entered the contest boasting an impressive nine-fight winning streak, all victories secured by knockout.

Notably, Duarte’s victories, while dominant, have been against opponents at a lower level of competition compared to Garcia. Still, Oscar De La Hoya decided to support his own boxer’s opponent and went to Duarte’s locker room. He spoke to him in Spanish and may have also given him some advice. The fans weren’t happy with this.

Oscar De La Hoya shared a video on his Instagram where he could be seen walking into Duarte’s locker room. He did this after he was asked not to enter Garcia’s locker room. Still, the fans blasted ‘Golden Boy’ for supporting Duarte.

One of the fans remarked that the promoter loves leaving fighters hanging  when they lose a bout. They wrote, “But you love leaving them alone in the ring after they lose more.”

Another fan predicted Garcia’s victory. They wrote, “Congratulations to @kingryan on the win you heard it here first.”

One fan appreciated ‘KingRy’ for taking a stand for himself and doing things his own way. They wrote, “Boy bye good that @kingryan standing up for himself.”

A fan mentioned his love for the promotion but at the same time, they argued that De La Hoya needs to amend his relationship with Garcia. They wrote, “I love you Oscar but you need to find a way to make it right with @kingryan.”

An Instagram user stated that De La Hoya is quite hard to understand and called him “tricky“. They wrote, “You’re a tricky dude, but we all notice it.”

Even though De La Hoya was banned from Garcia’s lockerroom, the fans still felt that he shouldn’t have gone and met Duarte. But why was he banned?

The ongoing legal dispute between Ryan Garcia and Golden Boy Promotions escalated when Bernard Hopkins, a key figure in the promotion, suggested he would determine Garcia’s future in the ring following Saturday’s bout. Hopkins bluntly stated, “We’re not in the business of kissing a fighter’s a**” about the 25-year-old Garcia.

Taking offense to these remarks, Garcia, during a press conference on Thursday, criticized Golden Boy for seemingly favoring Duarte over him. Notably, Garcia didn’t shy away from reminding Hopkins of the end of his career, highlighting the knockout in the final fight.
