Floyd Mayweather Jr. Shares “Priceless” Moment Between Mayweather Sr. And Grandson; Pens Heart-Warming Message

In boxing, one last name stands pertinent—the ‘Mayweather’ clan. In a rare visual on social media, the close-knit dynamic that permeates this family was visible. It has now touched the hearts of many.

Floyd Mayweather, the current frontrunner of this family, was born in a clan that has its footing deeply entrenched in boxing. Born to a father who was hardly present in their lives, Floyd Mayweather Sr. and his siblings Roger Mayweather, and Jeff Mayweather spearheaded their family’s name in the sport. Today, when the fourth generation of this clan braces itself for the public eye, rare footage of the two extreme generations intermingling has emerged on social media.

On his Instagram, former welterweight champion, and the recent name to shine in the Mayweather family, Floyd Mayweather Jr., uploaded a heartwarming video. In it, his father, 71-year-old, Floyd Mayweather Sr., was dressing ‘Money’s’ grandchild, Kentrell Gaulden Jr. Mayweather family patriarch, dressed in his best, a varsity jacket, held his great-grandson, fondly known as “Meezy,” putting on him a green and white outfit.

Impressed by the heartwarming sight, ‘Pretty Boy’ wrote, “Even though my dad is dealing with dementia, he is still a great man and I enjoy these priceless moments. Dressing and singing to his Great-Grandson was amazing!” Meezy, born to Mayweather’s daughter, Iyanna Mayweather, and Kentrell DeSean Gaulden, a.k.a. NBA Youngboy, turned 3, a few weeks ago. The child, who has his own Instagram handle is a celebrity in his own right. His account holds about 307,000 followers.

Only a few weeks ago, wishing his grandson a happy birthday, Mayweather Jr. posted an image of Meezy on top of his $330,500 yellow McLaren 720S Spider. In captions, he wrote, “Happy Birthday to my grandson @kjmeezymayweather I Love You!”

Floyd Mayweather Sr., competed in the sport through the years, 1970s-1980s. The Brox-born fighter rose to fame in the mid-seventies, persuading the audience as a potential knockout expert. However, in 1992, the hustler was jailed for a term of five-and-a-half years on drug charges. In those years, his son, his namesake, was taking leaps toward establishing his base in the sport. In his absence, his brother, Jeff Mayweather, and Roger Mayweather stood by and trained Floyd. Now, when another generation of his family is making space for themselves in the media eye, the Mayweather family patriarch has made sure to be a part of their lives.
