Ahead of Ryan Garcia‘s fight against Devin Haney at Barclays Center, Haney’s sparring with Gervonta Davis aka Abdul Wahid was leaked. Later, the same video was uploaded by ‘KingRy’ himself on his YouTube channel. Meanwhile, strongly condemning the act, Devin Haney and his father Bill Haney held Floyd Mayweather mainly accountable. Now, in the wake of Haney’s shocking defeat to Garcia, Mayweather publicly denied sending ‘KingRy’ Devin’s sparring with Davis.

Additionally, Floyd Mayweather advised Haney to hire a better guide for his future in the sport. Offering a physical demonstration, the 50-0 boxer also explained what Haney did wrong against ‘KingRy’ on April 20th in Brooklyn.

Floyd Mayweather always loved Devin Haney

After Ryan Garcia got hold of Devin Haney’s sparring with ‘Tank’ Davis, ‘The Dream’ furiously took to X and called Floyd Mayweather a “bonafide hater” in public. For the same reason, he believed Floyd Mayweather deliberately leaked his and Davis’ sparring to give Garcia an unprecedented advantage over ‘The Dream’. “I know he sent Ryan the sparring,” Haney wrote. Finally, in his latest interview with FightHype, ‘TBE’ replied to Devin, the former WBC Super-Lightweight champion.

I will always talk good about Devin. Devin is young so I expect him to say, ‘Floyd you’re hating on me.’ No, Devin, I always loved you and always wanted the best for you,” Floyd Mayweather told FightHype.

If I don’t f*** with you, I’m not showing you different moves in the gym. I guess he thought I sent the sparring video to Ryan Garcia. Did he get it from me? Absolutely not,” Mayweather added, replying to Haney and his father’s bold charge. Additionally, ‘TBE’ advised Haney to hire a better guide for his upcoming fights.

After watching Garcia vs. Haney, Floyd Mayweather feels Deivn Haney needs a better guide – someone who has himself faced difficult situations inside the boxing ring. “In the future, when he fights, I’m not saying remove your dad. But, you’re going to have somebody that knows something about boxing right there with you to tell you how to handle that crunch moment,” said Mayweather, referring to the three knockdowns Haney suffered against Ryan.

“Keep your dad, but, you got to have somebody who’s been in that crunch moment,” he added, reflecting on Garcia’s MD win over Haney. Additionally, Mayweather objected to how Devin jabbed Garcia. As per ‘TBE’, Devin tried to jab Garcia the way amateur boxers generally do. Having offered a physical demonstration, Mayweather added, “Just for starters Devin, you can’t jab like this. That’s amateur.” Hopefully, Haney will soon reply to Floyd Mayweather’s statements. Anyway, do you think the video of Haney’s sparring with Davis helped Garcia? Let us know in the comments below.
