Jake Paul’s boxing record stands at six wins against nil losses. That is impressive for a full-time YouTuber, actor, social media influencer, and rapper. The victory against the former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva on October 29th has elevated Jake Paul’s stars.

Now, all that Jake needs to do is to point his fingers – speculations and rumors of an upcoming multi-million dollar fight contract would mill around the boxing world.

Undeniably, a safe bet for the pay-per-view, and promotional business, Jake Paul’s win over ‘Spider’ Silva has raised expectations. The most putative course of action? A colossal face-off against none other than the most successful boxer of our era – Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather!

On the other hand, Mayweather has fought off and beaten Jake’s elder brother, Logan. Aptly named, The Bragging Rights, the exhibition match, took place at Florida’s Hard Rock Stadium on June 6th, 2021.

Declaring retirement, he has had exhibition matches across the globe ever since. On September 25th, he knocked out Japan’s Mikuru Asakura in Saitama, Japan. Next, he will meet YouTuber KSI’s younger brother, Deji Olatunji, in UAE’s Coca-Cola arena this month.

Jake Paul believes that, given the correct numbers, Floyd may consider a match. While talking to MMA Fighting last month, he mentioned, “I think he would [fight me] if it was an exhibition for sure. The thing is I want it to be a real pro bout and take his undefeated record, which I don’t think he’ll risk.”

Stephen Espinoza also toes the same line, “I think they’re the two most gifted self-marketers that I’ve ever been involved with from very different ways of doing so. Again, they both knew how intuitively to generate attention and engage with their audience and know their audience very well. They’re both intimately involved in the marketing and operation of the fight. I can’t think of many other fighters during fight week or the day before the fight who want to have conversations about marketing and promotion and what’s going on and what are our indicators saying and what marketing do we have on the day of the fight.”

The ‘Stare’ Down

The fight between a YouTuber turned pro-boxer with a 6-0 record against one of the best boxers of our time, with a near-perfect 50-0 record harbingers a high decibel contest. As it happened in Logan’s case, we might end up watching an exhibition bout with round restrictions.

Logan insists that he won the fight since he could withstand Floyd’s onslaught until the last round. Moreover, the latter couldn’t keep his word on knocking him out, either. But, on the other hand, ‘Money’ seems to have taken Logan lightly and let him off the hook.

A fight between junior Paul and Floyd Mayweather might generate an overwhelming limelight. Time alone will tell whether ‘The Best Ever’ will allow ‘The Problem Child’ some fun time or have a taste of some accurate and mean jabs.
