Floyd Mayweather Jr. and John Gotti III would face other on June 11 in an exhibition match. The latter is a mixed martial artist who has participated in two professional boxing bouts, winning both duels. But probably what would catch the attention of most followers and enthusiasts would be his surname, Gotti. Many in the Big Apple, especially the old timers, would be familiar with it.

John Gotti III is the scion of the Gotti family. Grandson of the ‘Dapper Don’ John Gotti Sr., the thirty-year-old has been active in mixed martial arts since 2017. As of now, his record stands at five wins against one loss. Then last year, finally foraying into professional boxing, he debuted against Albert Tulley on October 1. Four months later, on January 21, he fought his second bout.

As per an article in ‘birminghammail.co.uk,’ the Gotti family reportedly had an annual income of $500 million. However, that fails to address the question of whether John Gotti III inherited any of that fortune. Hence information on John Gotti III receiving wealth from his grandfather remains unavailable. Any mention of figures at this juncture might be purely speculative.

All said and done, Gotti III seems to have picked a career far removed from his family’s line of work, so whether he can score a third consecutive win against an undefeated champion widely regarded as one of boxing’s greatest remains to be seen.
