Conor Benn has been off the boxing ring for almost a year now, however, it was not because he planned to stay inactive. The British boxer has found himself in immense trouble. He had planned to face Chris Eubank Jr. last year, however, Benn failed the doping test which caused their fight to fall apart. This happened after ‘The Destroyer’ was found to have some trace amounts of Clomiphene in his urine.

This prompted Benn’s team to provide a detailed description of the boxer’s diet which was claimed to have had a hand in the result being positive. The World Boxing Council declared that Benn’s high consumption of eggs during the time the sample was taken provides a “reasonable explanation for the adverse findings”. The WBC made a statement clearing his name once and for all after consulting an expert nutritionist. They said, “No conclusive evidence that Mr. Benn engaged in intentional or knowing ingestion of Clomiphene”.

After the fight got canceled, Eubank Jr. face Liam Smith in his stead and lost via TKO. Eubank Jr. wanted a rematch and however after it got postponed twice, he and Hearn seemed to have changed their focus. Now it seems that Eubank Jr. vs Benn is at hand. Eddie Hearn recently gave a major update on the fight.
