Keith Thurman is of the opinion that Terence Crawford fought an “almost nobody” in Errol Spence Jr. this year. According to the former unified welterweight champion, ‘Bud’ “didn’t beat up real a champion“. In his language, Errol Spence Jr. is not Shawn Porter whom Thurman fought in 2016. Although ‘One Time’ claimed that he didn’t “really like” talking down on fighters and taking away credits, he stated that Spence Jr. is a fighter who “gets wiped by many people” in the ring.
“Everybody knows [if] you put Thurman in the ring on the same night, Thurman wipes Spence. That Errol gets wiped by many people,” Keith Thurman told Fight Hub TV. Replying to the statements of Thurman, the former opponent of ‘The Truth’, Yordenis Ugas declared how he was training to face ‘One Time’ before “a change came”. In his opinion, while Thurman is still a great boxer, the 34-year-old should rather just be more active as a boxer before criticizing Errol Spence Jr.’s abilities in the sport.

Ahead of the Mario Barrios fight, Yordenis Ugas advises Keith Thurman to focus on fighting
While Thurman called Spence Jr. an “almost nobody” and “not a real champion,” Ugas reminded ‘One Time’ that he has fought only once in four years since the Manny Pacquiao fight in 2019. According to ‘ 54 Milagros,’ Thurman makes more appearances in interviews than he does in the boxing ring. “I was training to fight Thurman and I don’t know what happened, a change came,” stated Ugas.
I was training to fight Thurman and I don’t know what happened, a change came. The guy has fought once in four years, I have seen him giving more interviews than fighting. I hope to see him go back. He is still a great fighter. https://t.co/l7rf9WTkEu

“The guy has fought once in four years, I have seen him giving more interviews than fighting,” Ugas added. Along these lines, Ugas hoped to see Thurman return to the ring. “I hope to see him go back. He is still a great fighter,” he concluded.
In his last fight, Thurman faced Mario Barrios in February last year. Reportedly, he and Ugas were in talks to lock horns in August this year. However, as mentioned by Ugas, due to the appearance of a sudden “change“, the bout collapsed.
