2024 appears to be another great year for boxing as the four heavyweight giants are slated to make their return to the ring. The financial stakes for the impending clash that will shake the heavyweight division are out and the figures, from a report by Boxing Kingdom, are shocking, to say the least. First Francis Ngannou and Anthony Joshua are going to have their crossover fight on March 8th. Surprisingly, Joshua is going to make a whopping $45 million while Ngannou will be getting $20 million for the fight almost twice what he made in his last fight against Tyson Fury.

Meanwhile, the fight between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk, which got postponed due to Fury’s injury, is also going to be a lucrative deal. While the WBC champion Fury is going to earn a massive $70 million for the unification bout, the WBA, WBO, and IBF champ Oleksandr Usyk, is earning half of what Fury will be earning – $35 million. The total pool for both these fights stand at an incredible $170 million, which shows how much emphasis the Saudis have placed on boxing. In the meantime, Fury is planning to fight all these fighters soon enough.

Fury clears out rumors of retirement…

Tyson Fury’s highly anticipated unification bout with Oleksandr Usyk faced a setback. Originally scheduled for Riyadh this month, the clash was rescheduled to May 18 in Saudi Arabia due to Fury’s sparring injury.

Fury, dismissing retirement rumors, is resolute in his path. Reflecting on this, he stated on Instagram, “I’ve got two fights with Usyk for the undisputed, twice.” Fury then envisions a subsequent clash with former champ Joshua, and then a possible rematch, followed by a showdown again with Francis Ngannou.

Over the years, my fervor for boxing remained intact, although life's commitments sometimes deviated me from being a hardcore fan of the sport.
