‘Fury is Such a Fraud’: Boxing World Enraged as Tyson Fury Plans to Fight 38-Year-Old Derek Chisora in December

Heavyweight superstar, Tyson Fury, has been teasing fans with a list of potential opponents. This was after he announced his retirement after a sensational victory against Dillian Whyte in April 2022. While the speculations continue to rise. It was reported that Fury might face 38-year-old Derek Chisora for a trilogy fight in December.

Fury had previously faced Chisora twice. The duo first fought at the Wembley Arena in London on July 23, 2011. Fury won the bout by decision. And, in turn, won the British and Commonwealth heavyweight title.

They fought each other again on November 29, 2014. The fight that took place at the ExCel International Convention Centre in London saw Fury win again by decision. In victory, he also won the European, WBO International, and vacant British heavyweight titles.

Fury announced his retirement from professional boxing in 2022. However, it was spoken in hushed tones that a fight with Anthony Joshua would entice him to make a return.

But it was revealed that Chisora has emerged as a shock frontrunner for Fury’s fight in December. Fury even took to social media to talk about the fight. He said, “December 3, I’m coming for you. We’re about to announce an opponent this week sometime. Get up there my boy. Cardiff, here we come, get up.”

Moreover, it was reported that the two heavyweights have agreed to the terms of a heavyweight fight.

Fans were not too happy with the prospect of the duo meeting for a trilogy fight. In fact, a lot of fans took to social media to share their thoughts about the same.

User @leanmma_ did not mince words while calling Fury the worst heavyweight champion.

Meanwhile, a few fans were outraged at the prospect of a peak heavyweight facing an opponent who is far past his prime. Moreover, user @tonyv1299 mentioned that boxing fans deserve more competitive fights.

Similarly, user @StephanBroome was quick to point out that Fury had easily beaten Chisora previously. And that the fight was unnecessary as Chisora had also lost 3 of his last 4 fights.

On the other hand, @TheCherryDude felt that Fury should rather fight a retired Mike Tyson. This, in turn, will ensure a more fair fight.

User @DJKBOX101 mentioned that Chisora put Joshua to shame by signing up for the third time. Moreover, @jeff_oakley1990 also mentioned that a lot of heavyweights weren’t available. Even though it was a pointless fight.

However, a few fans were disappointed at the trilogy fight. Additionally, user @ozjambo52 even went on to call Fury a fraud.
