From Alberta, Canada, 22-year-old Alexas Kubicki exudes confidence. “I’ll be the next and youngest undisputed champion.” But there’s a problem. To hold the flyweight division’s four belts, Kubicki will have to defeat Gabriela Fundora. And Sebastian Fundora’s unbeaten sister is in no mood to hold back. If need be, she’s ready for the warpath. “Talk is cheap. We’ll see who has a better team Saturday night,” she fired back.

Tonight, Gabriela Fundora and Alexas Kubicki feature in the co-main event of the Golden Boy-DAZN card, headlined by Oscar Collazo and Jayson Vayson. The flyweights face off for the undisputed title. Last year, Fundora defeated Gabriela Celeste Alaniz to become the youngest ever undisputed champion in the four-belt era. Kubicki replaced Ayelen Granadino, who was originally scheduled to fight Fundora. So ahead of the match, let’s review how Fundora and Kubicki measure up against each other.

Predicting Fundora vs. Kubicki: Who has better stats and a record?

Fundora made her professional debut four years ago. On October 21, 2023, the 23-year-old who was born in Palm Beach, Florida, won her first world title. A year later, the most defining phase of her career came when she became an undisputed champion. Adding to the accolade, BWAA, The Ring, and ESPN voted her 2024’s best female fighter.

With 16 fights under her belt, Gabriela Fundora remains unbeaten, boasting a 50% knockout-to-win rate.

Alexas Kubicki, on the other hand, had her first professional bout a year after Fundora debuted. Before winning a series of regional flyweight titles, including the North American Boxing Federation, WIBA World, WBC Youth World, and, most recently, the WBC International, the Alberta native lost to Linda Contreras Ibarra in 2023. With only 2 of her 13 wins coming her way via early stoppage, Kubicki records a 15% KO rate.

Regarding the physical comparison, it should be noted that little information is available about Kubicki.

Gabriela Fundora vs. Alexas Kubicki: Height, weight, reach comparison, and more

Fundora, on the other hand, stands 5 feet and 9 inches, or 175 centimeters, tall. His hand reach extends to 69 inches, or 175 centimeters. Weighing 110.2 pounds, Sebastian Fundora’s sister appears slightly lighter than her Canadian counterpart, who recorded 110.6 pounds.

Fight prediction

At the press conference, Gabriela Fundora gave a glimpse of how the fight could play out. “When you guys see a Fundora, what usually happens? Knockouts. You’ll see one on Saturday.” Considering that her last two opponents were dispatched inside the distance, one should not ignore the warning.

With a nearly 89% chance of winning, Gabriela Fundora is expected to defeat the +800 underdog Alexi Kubicki.

But it will be futile to ignore Kubicki altogether. She hasn’t lost a fight since suffering the defeat in May 2023. Though for regional titles, her last four matches appear to have taken place against seasoned fighters.

And Kubicki’s swagger is hard to miss. She said, “I’m confident, ready and taking her belts back to Edmonton. She’s going to have to pay for my extra baggage. She hasn’t fought anyone like me.” It’s a God-given opportunity for the Canadian, so she would want to make the best of it.

But Gabriela Fundora’s form and experience reveal a storyline whose ending most already know.

If Fundora wins tonight, who would you want her to face next?
