George Kambosos Jr gets agitated when he is compared with Ryan Garcia. Well, there’s no doubt that the mental warfare that took place between Kambosos Jr. and Devin Haney was one of the best in boxing history. Jr. is known for his adept use of social media to get under the skin of his opponents, and Haney couldn’t escape his sights. While the 6X Lightweight World Champion prepares for Vasyl Lomachenko, the parallels are being drawn between the upcoming Garcia-Haney fight with his fight against Haney. However, Kambosos doesn’t agree with the comparison, taking it as an insult. He instantly explains why his situation is completely different than ‘KingRy’.

The lightweight division is heating up with the announcement of a title fight between Vasiliy Lomachenko and George Kambosos Jr. The two boxers will reportedly clash for the vacant IBF lightweight title on May 12th in Perth, Australia. This development comes after Devin Haney, the previously undisputed champion, relinquished all his lightweight titles—WBC, WBA, IBF, and WBO—in November. He jumped a weight to pursue a junior welterweight championship fight against Regis Prograis.

Besides that, George Kambosos Jr. also claimed that he’s doing perfectly fine when it comes to being a draw. A fan compares Ryan Garcia’s tactic with that of Kambosos Jr.’s strategy against Devin Haney. Well, Kambosos disagreed and stated that he just trash-talked during the presser and there were no tactics. And still, he did great numbers in the PPV. Kambosos Jr wrote, “Brother far from the same weird antics big difference talking some smack at the presser to promote a stadium fight in which I did very successfully.

He also mentioned, “45k in the stadium compared to Ryan who has gone off the rails, drinking, drugs and whatever delusional world he’s living in atm.” Well, Ryan Garcia has taken a different route while trying to get inside Haney’s head. So much so that even her ex-partner is worried about his welfare.

Amid George Kambosos Jr.’s comments, Ryan Garcia’s ex-wife calls for help

One take at a time

My passion for sweet science began at the tender age of 12, a gift from my father who introduced me to the legendary persona of Muhammad Ali. In my heart, 'The Rumble in the Jungle' still remains to be the pinnacle of sporting history. Over the years, my fervor for boxing remained intact, although life's commitments sometimes deviated me from being a hardcore fan of the sport.
