Gervonta Davis turns 30, and it seems his birthday plans are already spoiled. Misery continues to pile up on the American fighter, as he now has to toss his Japan trip plans into the bin. The agenda was clear—to explore the island’s culture and indulge in the “amazing” food. However, it seems he might have to wait some time before taking a trip across the Pacific. That’s not all. He has to now rely on his fierce rival, Ryan Garcia, to make his special day memorable.

Davis, 30, had put in a request to the authorities for a trip to Japan to celebrate his birthday, and his attorney had listed four locations he wanted to visit. He has been on probation since his hit-and-run case and has to go through the court for permission for such trips and vacations.

The case dates back to November 2020, when the accident left four people injured. What followed next was a probation of three years along with 90 days of house arrest and 200 hours of community service. However, with Judge Althea M. Handy refusing the request, ‘Tank’ has to remain in the US. Interestingly, it comes down to ‘KingRy’ now.

While answering to a fan, Davis, at 30-0, had suggested that he would be up for a rematch with Garcia, 26. It wasn’t long before the latter took notice of the comment and suggested settling their rivalry the right way. Garcia, at 24-1, wrote, “Time to settle this the right way!!!” To this, the Baltimore native put in a condition. He demanded, “Get me a gift for my gday or you not getting sh–t..”

The two stood across from each other in the squared circle last year, where Davis left the arena with a knockout win. Since then, there have been talks of a rematch, but nothing fruitful materialized. Meanwhile, the WBA champion has continued his reign at the top of the lightweight division, and more fighters have thrown in their names to face him.

Gervonta Davis: long list of suitors

Notably, Davis is scheduled to defend his WBA title against Lamont Roach. However, their card has taken a hit, and instead of a December 14 date, it is now pushed to January. The likes of Keyshawn Davis have launched an attack on Davis and demanded a fight with him. He also doesn’t let any opportunity slip by to throw a shade on him. ‘The Businessman’ in a string of posts has called him and declared, “Blah Blah Blah send me a contract you Ompa Loompa.”

In addition, the lightweight boxer has explained he only needs four rounds to do a dismantle job on the champion. He announced, “Let me get up 4-5 rounds straight on yo a** & watch what I do to you b***h. @Gervontaa.” Therefore, Davis also has a couple of fighters lined up, and he can have his pick once he brushes aside Roach. It remains to be seen whether he will go for a rematch against Garcia or pick any fighter from the division to defend his title.
