In a recent interview with iD Boxing, Josh Taylor looked pretty excited as he talked with Andi Purewal. Taylor sent a warning of sorts to Teofimo Lopez.

But, there is no official confirmation regarding the fight. Both fighters have garnered a lot of attention with their impressive performances inside the ring and even outside of it. Josh Taylor is a Scottish fighter, who is the bearer of an impressive record with 19 wins without any losses. Teofimo Lopez, on the other hand, is an American fighter who also holds a record of similar merit with 18 wins and 1 loss.

Josh Taylor on Teofimo Lopez’s potential fight

During the interview with iD Boxing’s Andi Purewal, Josh Taylor hinted that his next opponent might be Teofimo Lopez. He stated, “Yeah well it’s looking like that’s going to be the fight next.” Despite no official confirmation, Taylor expressed his excitement about the potential matchup, saying, “I’m excited for it, you know? In America. And another huge fight. Madison Square Garden. All the legends have boxed there, you know. So aye, it’s just as great as it’s great times.”

Taylor acknowledged that Lopez was a unified world champion and a “very, very good fighter.” But simultaneously he didn’t hesitate to send a stern message to his potential opponent, saying, “Just prepare the best you can and get ready for a f**king whooping. Yeah, that’s it.”

It remains to be seen whether or not the fight will come to fruition, but Taylor’s eagerness and confidence in his abilities are palpable. As he prepares for what could be the biggest fight of his career, fans will undoubtedly be eagerly anticipating any updates regarding this potential matchup. Even many fans claimed that “boxing is starting to look fun” after Teofimo Lopez vs. Josh Taylor news came out.

Arnold Barboza Jr Weighs in on Taylor vs Lopez

The current WBO super lightweight champion, Josh Taylor, is set to face former unified lightweight champion Teofimo Lopez on June 10th in New York.

Originally, Taylor was set to face Jack Catterall in a rematch, but the bout has been postponed multiple times. The major reasons were the injuries suffered by Taylor, who ultimately decided to face Lopez in a much more lucrative fight.

Arnold Barboza Jr, another boxer, has been vocal about his desire to face Lopez or any of the top fighters in the division. Barboza Jr believes that if Taylor isn’t at his 100%, Lopez will definitely bear the advantage in the upcoming fight.

Barboza Jr recently defeated former two-division champion Jose Pedraza in Arizona. He also expressed his desire to take on the winner of the Taylor vs. Lopez or any other top fighter in the division.
