Gervonta Davis, all of a sudden found himself amid heated criticism from boxing fans ever since Bill and Devin Haney called him out after the Regis Prograis fight. Their claims that Davis has been fighting mediocre opponents were agreed upon by a lot of fans. Many fans were also excited about the prospect of a potential fight between the two.

However, now it seems that the fight will not be taking place as despite the back and forth between the two, the fight is still far from materializing. Bill Haney recently, even revealed that Davis had turned down his $20 million offer. Moreover, Eddie Hearn too hinted at moving on to other fights as he hoped that they could make the fight in the future. Interestingly, former UFC coach Rashad Holloway agrees with the narrative as he criticized the lightweight boxer.

Rashad Holloway dismantles Gervonta Davis as he brings up Ryan Garcia’s fight

Recently, Rashad Holloway appeared on the No Bluffin Podcast, where he discussed the claims against ‘Tank’. He stated, “I don’t think Tank believes in himself.” Moreover, for all those who disagree with him, he asked them to “go back and look at the Ryan Garcia fight”. He added that Davis “hasn’t fought any top level opponents at all.”

Holloway pointed out the difference between Davis and Haney claiming, contrary to the former ‘the Dream’ has never been afraid to face tougher opponents. He also discussed Davis putting the weight clause in the contract for Garcia, stating that Haney didn’t need to do that to win against Prograis. He stated that the way Davis looked so happy winning the fight, made him think that Davis wasn’t confident in his chance to win. Nevertheless, Davis outlined his desire to bring forth a potential fight against Haney to fruition.

Davis accepts Haney’s challenge

Fresh off his triumph over Regis Prograis, Devin Haney is already making waves. However, it’s not just his boxing skills that are catching attention; it’s also his father, Bill Haney. Bill recently threw down the gauntlet, accusing Gervonta “Tank” Davis of dodging a fight with Devin. Davis, known for his fierce style, responded with a now-deleted tweet, ominously stating, “I promise you. Your father gonna cry for what I’m a do to you.”

While the tweet is gone, the challenge remains. Devin seemed eager, urging, “Let’s make it happen.” Davis cryptically replied with “say nothin..” The potential match-up is tantalizing. Haney’s record stands at an impressive 31-0, with unmatched technical prowess. Davis, though a formidable opponent, hasn’t faced someone of Haney’s caliber, especially in terms of defense.
