Former WBC Featherweight champion Mark Magsayo just made his Junior Lightweight debut against Isaac Avelar in Long Beach. Magsayo, who felt comfortable and strong at 130 lbs, fought as if he were in a hurry to end the fight.
Likewise, with his brutal shots and accuracy, he knocked out Avelar in only the third round of their fight, scheduled for eight rounds. However, while Mark offered a huge KO for the spectators to cherish, the injured Avelar left the ring on a stretcher, barely moving his body.

As soon as the bell rang and the fight began, Mark Magsayo fought with destructive ferocity. By being quick, he landed several merciless right uppercuts to Avelar’s chin. In addition, as Avelar dropped his guard while trying to close in on the distance, Magsayo caught the former with his jabs. And unfortunately, in his attempt to fight toe-to-toe, Isaac ended up exhausting himself and missing.

Finally, in the third round, Magsayo caught Avelar with a right uppercut and added a cross to drop the latter in the ring. Despite being hurt, Isaac got up only to eat a vicious left hook that caused him to fall. At this, while Mark Magsayo made a successful Junior Lightweight debut, Isaac Avelar left the ring on a stretcher with everyone showing concern for his well-being.
Following vicious KO, Magsayo takes to X and hopes for Isaac’s recovery
It was not the first time that Mark brutally knocked out an opponent in the ring. For example, one can always refer back to his treatment of Julio Ceja in 2021. Anyway, after Isaac was carried out on a stretcher following the KO, Magsayo took to X and stated that he was “praying for the safety of my opponent Isaac Avelar.” In addition, he claimed that outside the ring, Avelar was a brother to him who fought for his family and country. “I hope Isaac is okay,” he added.

Like Mark, several fans took to Instagram and prayed for Avelar’s speedy recovery.
“Prayers out to him, god is in control of this situation,” wrote one fan.
“Prayer for him & his family God please touch him and his family we have faith in you my God AMEN,” added another.

Similarly, one said, “Sad to see. Prayers to him and his family.”
Finally, one wrote, “May the lord protect this man.”
