Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk are set to collide in a historic showdown for the undisputed Heavyweight title on February 17 in Saudi Arabia. Fury, the 35-year-old British boxer, currently holds the WBC championship, while 36-year-old Ukrainian Usyk possesses the WBA, WBO, and IBF belts. This highly anticipated bout aims to crown the first undisputed Heavyweight champion since 1999. The last time this title was on the line, it was Lennox Lewis who came out victorious against a raging Evander Holyfield.

Initially scheduled for December 23, the fight faced delays due to Fury’s recent match against Francis Ngannou, which proved to be a challenging encounter and forced a rescheduling of their clash in Riyadh. Despite escaping a brutal upset in his last fight, Fury still stands confident in his bout against Usyk. However, he doesn’t wish to retain the four belts after winning them.

Tyson Fury might vacate the four belts after winning against Usyk

The two champions, Fury with the WBC title and Usyk holding the WBO, IBF, and WBA unified belts, faced off at a press conference in London. The atmosphere was charged, culminating in a tense confrontation that required intervention to separate the fighters.

This incident followed a press conference where ‘The Gypsy King’ ignited excitement for their showdown in Riyad. Recently, Fury had an interview with IFL TV,where he stated, “I will beat Oleksandr Usyk. I’m the WBC champion, I’m a lineal champion, I’m gonna be the Ring Magazine champion for the third time, the rest of it I’m not so concerned about.

Fury continued, “I’ll just vacate the belts and have somebody else have a go, to grab all of the belts. And it’s not only Fury, even his promoter Frank Warren believes that it’s going to be an easy fight for his pugilist.

Frank Warren claims Fury might easily win against Usyk

Both the Heavyweight fighters are among the best boxers in the world. One has proven his might by being the unified champion of the division, while the other has defeated the deadliest puncher in the sport Deontay Wilder, and even grabbed the WBC title. So, the anticipation for the super showdown is touching the sky. The fans believe it might turn out to be the biggest event in the history of the sport.

Frank Warren, however, has a different take on the fight. According to him, the fans might not witness the close fight they are expecting. Echoing Fury’s sentiments, Warren has disregarded the 50-50 chances between the fighters. Warren said, “Look Styles makes fights. I think it is going to be an easy fight. When you will find out is on the 17th. I think Tyson wins the fight.
