In November 1986, at the young age of 20, Mike Tyson floored Trevor Berbick to become the youngest heavyweight champion in the world. Despite being the younger and comparatively inexperienced fighter, ‘Iron’ maintained astonishing authority over Berbick. Swinging his heavy hands, ‘Kid Dynamite’ rattled his opponent frequently. Finally, in the second round, he mercilessly whipped the body of Berbick and dealt an excruciating left hook to win the contest via a TKO.

While boxing fans continue to cherish Tyson’s victory over Berbick to this day, rising prospect Moses Itauma, 18, recently declared he would shatter Mike’s record by laying his ambitious hands on the heavyweight title quicker than ‘Iron Mike’ did. In this connection, as Itauma consulted with Tyson himself, the former heavyweight champion of the world offered the British boxer a word of advice.

On the undercard of Tyson Fury vs. Francis Ngannou, Moses Itauma will lock horns with Istvan Bernath. On this occasion, at the latest press conference, having been asked what he aspired to achieve in his professional career, Itauma referred to the legacy of Mike Tyson.  “As an amateur, I’ve won two national titles, three European gold medals, and a world title. And as a professional, I’m looking to replicate that and do it quicker than the youngest heavyweight world champion himself, Mike Tyson,” announced Itauma. And in the wake of his interaction with the press, he even met Tyson. As the young boxer told Tyson about his plans, the legend was supportive and advised him to respect every opponent since “anything can happen in a fight.”

After IFL TV shared the brief clip on X, a fan applauded Tyson for teaching Itauma the importance of respecting every opponent.
