It’s a generational fight! Fans saw their fathers slug it out back in the 90s. Now, they want to see the sons square up for good. Interestingly, had it not been for Conor Benn‘s doping case, a fight with Chris Eubank Jr. was slated on October 8 last year. Even though it took a year, the much-touted fight now appears to be in plain sight. Per the latest information, promoter Eddie Hearn believes the Benn-Eubank Jr. might take place next year, hopefully at a venue in the United Kingdom. But it would be too naive to believe the match has washed its hands off all tangles.
On one hand, there’s the issue of Benn’s UK boxing license. Additionally, appeals by the UKAD (United Kingdom Anti-Doping) and BBBofC (British Board of Boxing Control) against the decision revoking his provisional suspension continue at large. At the opposite corner, the problem appears a bit more personal. Reportedly, the bond between Eubank Jr. and his dad has been strained for some time now. The latter even suggested his nephew over his son for the Benn fight. And so, the Benn-Eubank Jr. battle has been going through different hurdles, even before its occurrence. But Conor Benn might have a solution to resolve the Eubank conundrum.
