‘He Didn’t Understand It’: Mike Tyson Reveals How Evander Holyfield’s Son Helped to Achieve the Unthinkable

Boxing legends Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield might have put aside their rivalry to become business partners but it wasn’t an easy road. The two former champions recently collaborated to make their own cannabis-infused edibles named Holy Ears.

This is a play on the infamous ear bite incident that took place in the second showdown between the two. In the bout, Tyson would go on to bite Holyfield’s ear off and spit a part of it out, after getting fed up by the illegal headbutts the latter was throwing at him. However, it seems that the two have turned this moment into a business venture. Despite now being business partners, Iron Mike revealed that getting Holyfield to agree on the project was not an easy task.

Mike Tyson reveals how Holyfield’s son helped in persuading his father

In an episode of Hotboxin along with rapper Ice Cube and former NBA player Matt Barnes, Tyson claimed that when he proposed the idea, Holyfield thought that this was a joke. However, he added that ‘Real Deal’s’ son would persuade his father into making a sound business decision.

We hit him up the first time and he thought it was kind of we were making fun of him. But he didn’t understand it was just a gimmick and his son who’s his advisor, very witty and smart allowed him to understand it was just friendly and funny because that’s what this was all about,” said Tyson

It looks like boxing fans have to thank Holyfield‘s son for making two of the fiercest rivals in the sport work together. Moreover, the brand has gained some traction and is projected to see success in the future

What are the ‘Holy Ears’?

Holy Ears are ear-shaped edibles infused with THC- and Delta 8. This collaboration was recently announced and comes after  25 years of the pair’s infamous heavyweight championship matchup. The two will now work as business partners  under the banner of Carma Holdings.

The company also owns Tyson 2.0, ‘Iron Mike’s’ existing cannabis company. Tyson 2.0 has already become a major layer in the cannabis edible market Mike Bites, which are shaped like ears with a bite mark.

Moreover, the company plans to release Holyfield’s own cannabis line in 2023.
