“He Has Pushback, I Have Pushback, and That’s Just a Recipe for a Great Fight” Errol Spence Jr Believes His Upcoming Undisputed Fight Will Be More Interesting Than Floyd Mayweather-Manny Pacquiao

On the night of July 29th, at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, the fans will gather to witness the history being made in the modern era of boxing. Errol Spence Jr vs. Terence Crawford is the most anticipated fight for the past few years, the fans have roared many times in longing for this clash. Finally, the world will see the triumph of the Welterweight division, as currently, the four Welterweight titles are at stake, the WBO Champion, Crawford will go against the defender, Errol Spence Jr, for his IBF, WBC, and WBA titles.

Many, including the Spanish News platform, Marca has titled the fight as “most anticipated fight since Mayweather-Pacquiao”. Floyd Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquiao is considered one of the biggest PPV fights that has ever happened. Now after eight years, Spence-Crawford is showing the same signs of popularity. Not long ago, Spence also claimed 2023 to be the best year for boxing. Anyway, Errol Spence Jr even went forward in his latest interview and claimed that their bout will be even more interesting than the fight between Mayweather and Pacquiao.

Spence, recently appeared on The Last Stand with Brian Custer, where he talked about his upcoming fight against Crawford and his dream to be Undisputed at 147. So, Custer told Spence that he hasn’t seen this much hype, since Mayweather-Pacquiao in 2015. But he also stated that a lot of fans were disappointed after watching the fight, so how is his fight going to be different than ‘The Fight of the Century’?

Errol Spence started off by saying that the temperament of his opponent as well as his personal demeanor is really different from that of Mayweather-Pacquiao. They’re more hungry and dedicated and Spence mentioned that if his opponent ever tried to fight harder, then he would also try his best.

So he said, “He has pushback, I have pushback and that’s just a recipe for a great fight, exciting fight and for us to put on a great show. We both want to be in the history books, we both want to, you know, have a great fight.

He further added that he and Crawford are like two wounded pit bulls inside a cage, and uttered, “The only way to get out the cage is somebody gotta die.” So with this analogy, he proceeded to say that their fight is going to be a fight between their mentalities rather than their physical bodies.
