It seems Ryan Garcia has put his phone down and his gloves on. After a series of strange social media posts, Garcia promised a complete media blackout on anything but boxing. ‘KingRy’ wanted to keep away from all the distractions for his upcoming fight. He acknowledged his past online activity as “intense,” but assures fans he’s laser-focused on his upcoming fight with Devin Haney.

For that reason, Garcia surrounded himself with a winning team, including entrepreneur Patrick Bet-David. With a dedicated camp and a renewed focus, Garcia aimed to silence the doubters on April 20th. As it turns out, just days before the fight, even the WBC President can vouch for the seriousness of Ryan Garcia.

After Garcia’s social media facade, there were concerns that the boxer might not be fit to challenge Haney for the WBC title. So, as a result, the NYC Commission sanctioned a mental assessment before his fight that would keep a check on Garcia’s activities. He was put through another test, the results of which have been confirmed by Mauricio Sulaiman.

The WBC Prez talks about how Garcia has maintained an accurate weight for the fight, and the bout is still on. On the X space, he wrote, “Have received @RyanGarcia 14 day weigh in and is well within the range. We are just 12 days away from one of the biggest fights in recent years #HaneyGarcia at @barclayscenter in #NewYork.” Well, this is a big confirmation regarding the time when the fight was about to be cancelled.

Even though many raised concerns regarding Garcia’s health, everybody seems to be excited for this upcoming clash. So much so that the fans also demanded for the weight of Devin Haney at this point of his training.

Nobody’s feeling sorry here

Devin Haney is on track for his fight against Ryan Garcia on April 20th, with the weigh-in confirming both boxers are ready. However, the news sparked a flurry of reactions on X.

One fan took a peculiar approach, questioning Garcia’s mental assessment. This suggests some fans might be following recent controversies surrounding his social media activity.

Another fan demanded the official to show Devin Haney’s weight as well, presumably wanting confirmation from an official source.

Another chimed in with a similar question about Haney. This highlights the importance of weight management in boxing, particularly as fighters strategically cut weight to meet their division limits.

The intensity of the fight was emphasized by yet another fan talking about Haney’s scale measurement.

This repetitive request underscores the heightened anticipation for the matchup.
