The training video of Mike Tyson generated so much buzz that even his former rival, Evander Holyfield believes that it is the perfect time for a return.

Holyfield and Tyson have competed twice before. In 1996, Holyfield snatched the WBA heavyweight title from Tyson via an eleventh round TKO. The duo collided in the following year, a match in which Tyson was disqualified for biting a piece of Holyfield’s ear.

Tyson retired in 2005 after suffering two back to back losses at the hands of Danny Williams and Kevin McBride. Whereas ‘The Real Deal’ retired in 2011 with a TKO win over Brian Nielson.

Since their last bout in 1997, both Tyson and Holyfield have settled their rivalry. Although Holyfield is willing to run it back for the third time, it will be an exhibition bout.

“I would do that! Yes, I want to fight Mike Tyson. My whole thing is I’m open, and I know that I want to do well for myself at age 57. I can definitely handle him. But Mike would have to want to do it as well,” Holyfield told The Sun.

Holyfield said that unlike before, it will not be a grudge match. But it is to show people that they are two of the greatest fighters from their era who have come together to support a noble cause. According to Holyfield, there is no animosity between him and Tyson.

I can still shoot the jab, I can still shoot the shots, but not like a killing thing, [not like] ‘I’m going to hurt you, I’m going to show you that I can knock him out.’ Mike is looking sharp, but I’m in very good condition and shape physically and mentally. And if the money is right, too, then let’s get it on.”

Furthermore, Evander said that he is aware of the offers Tyson has been getting. Yet, he claims that a third fight between him and Tyson is the match people want to see.
