The Australian Boxing beauty Ebanie Bridges has firmly left her dark past behind. She doesn’t want to recall her rollercoaster ride that involved many traumatic incidents, from drug abuse as a teenager, to messed up stuff with the wrong people. Despite this, she gathered herself and gave a second shot at her life, which turned out to be inspirational.

She is a great admirer of her parents, who saved her from going down the wrong path. This ignited a thought of doing something worthy of her parents’ respect. So the 36-year-old became a maths teacher and began to make the most of every minute. She used her own experience of hard times to pave the way to become a world champion boxer.

Now, when she looks back, her eyes get a bit teary. She couldn’t believe how she herself changed things around and came so far. Surprisingly, she believes that she is not an emotional person, and did not want to talk about her past.

“The reason oh man. I don’t know. I’m almost starting to get emotional thinking about it”, Bridges said in an interview with Boxing King Media. She continued, “And this is the reason why I don’t want to talk about it because it is very negative and it’s very hard. And I’m in such a positive place that when I think about my past and bad things when it makes me feel like this, there’s plenty of things that I could say but yeah, I mean I don’t know.”

According to her, she could be dead if she hadn’t changed her lifestyle. Bad things happened to her, which were taking her to a fast dead end. Fortunately, she gave a second thought to it and became a successful inspirational boxing figure in Australia.

Ebanie Bridges’ battle against Mental Health

‘The Blonde Bomber’ suffered many setbacks in her life. Though she was into martial arts from the early days of her life, it was never easy. She believes that this sport needs not only physical strength but also willpower that comes from a strong mind.

There was a time when she trained herself with injuries, and it was disheartening. A thought of why she was torturing herself came across her mind a number of times, but she stayed relaxed and practiced staying calm.

Ebanie Bridges becomes world champion

Bridges always loved boxing. When she suffered a troubled past, it was boxing that brought her into the mainstream. Starting as an amateur, the 36-year-old won gold at Australasian Golden Gloves. Later, she turned pro. One amazing thing about her is that she was a ring girl before becoming a professional fighter.

Earlier this year in March, she became IBF bantamweight world champion by defeating Maria Cecilia Roman. This was a huge moment for her.

Following this, she defended her title for the first time against challenger Shannon O’Connell. The duo had intense trash talk before the showdown and both promised to bring some fireworks.

Little did the challenger know that Bridges was more sure of her claim. The latter knocked out Connell in the eight round and declared herself the queen of Australian boxing.
