Evander Holyfield predicts the fight in favor of Oleksandr Usyk

Like Usyk, Evander Holyfield rose from a dominant cruiserweight career to achieve heavyweight greatness. Holyfield navigated challenges against larger opponents like Riddick Bowe, George Foreman, and Lennox Lewis. Perhaps, in Usyk’s similar journey, Holyfield recognizes shared experiences and strategies honed in facing much bigger adversaries.

Speaking to IFL TV, Holyfield explained his reason behind choosing Usyk as the winner. He said, “Well, it’s going to be a tough fight for both. Even though I think Usyk will win because for one thing, he’s a tough fighter and he don’t give up and he quicker. So I don’t think that Tyson Fury would be able to compete with how many punches he’s gonna throw.

So, on the one hand, Holyfield is supporting Usyk, but on the other, Holyfield’s past rival and current business partner, Mike Tyson has given his verdict for Tyson Fury.

Mike Tyson chose Tyson Fury as the winner

Mike Tyson has shared his insights on the anticipated clash between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk for the undisputed heavyweight championship in 2024. Observing Fury’s recent victory over Francis Ngannou in October, Tyson expressed his anticipation for the upcoming bout, leaning towards Fury, Tyson believes Usyk will be dominated with his overpowering style.

Tyson said, “I got to go with Fury. I think he’s the best fighter in the world, especially in the heavyweight division. Great fighters lose, great fighters look bad, [but] that doesn’t stop them from being great fighters.” So, ‘Iron’ Mike took a different route than Evander Holyfield and claimed the victory for none other than ‘The Gypsy King’.
