Shane Mosley, whose son will fight on the undercard of Ryan Garcia vs. Oscar Duarte, has recently offered his opinion about the dispute between ‘KingRy’ and his promoters. Recently, Garcia blasted Oscar De La Hoya and Bernard Hopkins at the final presser of ‘KingRy’ vs. Duarte. According to Garcia, Hopkins cannot decide his future in the sport.

Shane Mosley feels Ryan Garcia should have kept the final press conference more “professional”

Amidst the ongoing dispute between Garcia and Hopkins, Shane Mosley feels ‘KingRy’ should focus more on the fight on December 2nd. While Mosley feels Garcia needs to express himself, he believes it is equally important to keep the press conferences professional. As a result, the former Welterweight champion thought he was slightly disappointed by Garcia’s words.

I got negative vibes from Ryan. But I think it could be a mistake because you should not be thinking about Oscar or Bernard or whatever they’re doing and really bring that to the press conference,” said Mosley. “Even though I love Ryan Garcia. Me and Ryan are cool. I’ve known him since he was a little kid. Keep it professional. But, this is a time to say what he needs to say, get off his chest,” he added meditating upon Garcia’s latest statements.

At the same time, Mosley wondered if the dispute in question was all Garcia needed to win the Oscar Duarte fight.

Maybe Garcia would “look spectacular” just because of the recent banter with De La Hoya and Hopkins

Despite the unrest, Mosley believes in the qualities that make Ryan a better fighter than Duarte. “I still think Ryan has too much speed, too tall in range for this kid,” he announced. However, Shane also branded the ongoing dispute “a big distraction” for Garcia. And even though he feared this distraction would cost ‘KingRy’ the upcoming fight, he hoped Garcia could turn the same into the fuel that is needed.

In this connection, Shane alluded to the time he stepped inside the ring with Antonio Margarito. “It is a big distraction. Hopefully, that doesn’t play into the fight. Maybe, this will be the fuel for him to look spectacular. When I fought Margarito, there were a lot of distractions going around me. Divorce, new trainer, I used that for fuel for me to be better,” he concluded. With that said, where do you think the dispute will lead Garcia to – failure or success? Let us know in the comments.
