He is 35 and knows that opportunities such as the Saturday night bout will be far and few if he doesn’t succeed. Hence, he has to beat David Benavidez. He must make a bold statement before he enters the twilight years of his professional career. Andrade feels he has what it takes to cross the big hurdle he faces at the Michelob ULTRA Arena.

In early January of this year, ‘Boo Boo’ entered a battle after an absence of nearly fourteen months. The opponent he faces undoubtedly remains one of the most formidable in business today. With nearly 85 percent of his wins coming through knockouts, the 9-years-younger David Benavidez is an opponent Andrade might not have faced thus far in his career. But the Providence, Rhode Island-born southpaw espouses full faith in his capabilities.

A few days ago, speaking at a media workout, Andrade said, “I have a lot of strengths. With my athletic ability and my preparation, I can beat anyone. This has really been a great camp. We’ve gotten through the ups and downs, and we’ve done everything we need to do to get the victory in this matchup.” He further explained how he has battled boxers with different styles throughout his career. Hence, all he needs to do on Saturday is identify Benavidez’s vulnerability and come up with a solid plan to neutralize him. Then he emphasized how his footwork was way too advanced in the game in comparison to ‘The Mexican Monster’.

A former middleweight and light middleweight champion, Demetrius Andrade has so far struggled to secure major contests. Hence, a win on November 25 remains non-negotiable if he wants to reach his full potential. More so, a victory might put him on the fast track to face Canelo Alvarez. Something he tried to do desperately about two years ago.
