A discussion regarding the neighborhoods one once lived in is nothing new on Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson. Tyson himself has often in front of his guests talked about the place he grew up in and what influences it had on him. In the latest episode of Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson, ‘Iron’ sat with Lil Nas X, a Grammy-winning hip-hop artist. At one point in their conversation, Tyson asked Lil Nas X what it was like living in Atlanta where he had earlier lived.

Lil Nas said he lived in L.A. now. Although living in Atlanta was “cool,” he opened up about a “scary,” experience he would encounter every night trying to catch sleep. He said, “Atlanta? No, I live in L.A. now. Atlanta was cool. It was scary too, though. I mean, I used to live in these slums of Atlanta. But then I moved to the suburban kind of area.”

Hearing his guest’s response, Tyson asked if the slum of Atlanta was a pretty bad place to live. To which Lil Nas replied by saying, “All get crazy out there. They shoot like every other night.”

“Trying to get to sleep, you’re like, ‘damn, I hope I don’t get shot’ while I’m sleeping or something,” he concluded by saying.

Mike Tyson once stopped a potential shooting at a comedy show

According to Lil Nas X, in the slums of Atlanta, one could hear shooting every night. The scene would be so scary that one would hope they did not get shot while sleeping in their bed at night. Speaking of regular shootings in the slums of Atlanta, where Lil Nas X lived, let us talk about a time when Mike Tyson stopped a potential shooting.

The incident took place at a bar in Hollywood, California. A man offended by others pulled out a gun and made a scene. At this, when everyone else panicked and almost ran for their lives inside the bar, Tyson calmly offered the man a hug.
