The fight between the two Welterweight kingpins, Terrence Crawford and Errol Spence Jr., has been anticipated by the whole boxing world. This fight has been compared to the likes of Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs Manny Pacquiao. The fight which was supposed to take place in November last year got pushed to December and then Crawford ended up fighting David Avanesyan on December 10th. No matter how anticipated the fight is, it has been getting delayed time after time. Therefore fans are left disgruntled about this whole situation.

All of this culminated and burst forth after a recent tweet by Michael Benson. In the tweet, Benson referred to an interview with Mike Coppinger with ‘Max On Boxing’, in which he claimed that Errol Spence Jr and Terrence Crawford were negotiating with each other “directly over the phone“.

He indicated that there has been some progress made on the fight and that they have come to terms regarding the purse split. However, this drew many mixed reactions from the fans. A lot of them are frustrated over the fight getting postponed. Even the British promoter, Eddie Hearn labeled this fight as ‘unachievable’ in one of his interviews.

Fans were rather full of suspicion towards the ‘good news’ for the long-awaited fight. One user, @bombsboxing expressed happiness upon hearing the rumors of the Errol Spence Jr. vs. Terrance Crawford fight and expressed hope that the fight will still take place.

Another fan, Ajxniofficial, pointed out an important detail that people seemed to be missing completely.
